BOLANGIR SUB COLLECTOR SUSPENDED OVER SEXUAL MISCONDUCT

BOLNGIR:Odisha government on Friday suspended Bolangir Sub-Collector Sanjay Mishra with immediate effect for misbehaving with a woman clerk.

A three-member team was formed to probe the allegations against Mishra. The development emerged after a widowed woman working as a Junior Revenue Assistant accused Mishra of sexually harassing her.

The woman clerk alleged that Mishra touched her inappropriately in his office chamber on August 14 and said the OAS officer was groping her in the official chamber.

The team, led by a woman official, has already recorded the statement of the lady. She had lodged a written complaint with the district collector alleging the OAS officer had tried to outrage her modesty.

Meanwhile, as per the complainant’s request, she has been transferred to another place.

Suchita Puspa is acting as the lead investigating officer of this case. She said notice was given to all the concerned parties for inquiry.
