Blood Donation Camp in UAIL, 229 Units Collected
Rayagada (Badal Tah): Utkal Alumina International Ltd., (UAIL) a subsidiary of Hindalco Industries Limited of the Aditya Birla Group, in collaboration with the District Headquarters Hospital, Rayagada, organised a mega voluntary blood donation camp at the local Club House in Nuapada Township, Kashipur Block, Rayagada district. A total of 229 units of blood were voluntarily donated during the event.
The camp was inaugurated by Navin Chandra Nayak, Additional District Magistrate, Rayagada; Ramesh Chandra Jena, Sub-Collector, Rayagada. Jagabandhu Majhi, Sarpanch, Tikiri, Bangari Dishari, Sarpanch, Kucheipadar, and Jadumani Majhi, Sarpanch, Hadiguda, along with other dignitaries were present.
Blood collection was facilitated by Dr. Gautam Patnaik, Sarojkant Acharya, B. Kishore Kumar, Umakant Mishra, Hemanta Nayak, Shankar Tadangi, and Chinmay Paricha from Rayagada Blood Bank.
Present at the occasion were Ravi Narayan Mishra, Unit Head, Utkal Alumina, Narayan Mitra, Head-HR, Lopamudra Mishra, Head-CSR, Pitambar Behera, Head-PR, Amjad Alli, CSR Department, Manoj Das, Sushanta Das, Binod Pujari, Diganta Mahanti, Rupen Patnaik, Shri Kartik Sahu, Soumya Ranjan Swain, Sudhir Nayak, Mohini Nayak, Ranjan Kar, Ashish Sahu, Gajendra Nayak, Satyabhama Nayak, Mousumi Das, Sushmita Khosla and others. They motivated the donors and pledged to ensure that no life in the future is lost due to shortage of blood.
Addressing the gathering, Ravi Narayan Mishra, Unit Head, Utkal Alumina, said, “Blood donation is the noblest of all donations. As part of our corporate social responsibility, UAIL has been undertaking various welfare initiatives for the economic and social development of local communities and affected communities. This voluntary blood donation drive aims to help patients in Kashipur and Rayagada district who suffer from anaemia and related conditions. I urge everyone to come forward voluntarily for such noble causes.”
Speaking on the occasion, Navin Chandra Nayak, Additional District Magistrate, appreciated UAIL’s consistent contribution to social welfare and commended the company’s efforts to ensure that patients in need receive timely blood support. Ramesh Chandra Jena, Sub-Collector, echoed similar sentiments.
