Block Level  Suravi 2024 Sishu Mahotsav Celebrated at Kaniha 

Kaniha : The vibrant Block Level  Suravi 2024 Sishu Mahotsav, was  held on October 03,2024 at Pabitra Mohan High School, Kaniha. This engaging event, organized by the Block Education Office, Kaniha and supported by NTPC Kaniha CSR, provided an excellent platform for students to display their diverse artistic and intellectual talents across a wide range of competitions. 

The festival brought together students from around 170 schools across 17 clusters within the Kaniha Block, with participants showcasing their skills in areas such as art and craft, music, dance, debate, essay writing, elocution, and creative writing. The event’s primary objective was to foster creativity, inspire the students, and promote their holistic development. 

The event was honored by the presence of several distinguished dignitaries, including Shri Braja Kishore Pradhan, Hon’ble Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) Talcher, Shri Ashok Kumar Sehgal, Head of Project, NTPC Kaniha, and Shri Narottam Pradhan, Block Education Officer, Kaniha. Other notable attendees included Shri Ramakrushna Pradhan, Chairman of Kaniha Block, Shri Navneet Kumar, Head of HR, NTPC Kaniha, Smt. Sujita Rath, Additional General Manager (HR), NTPC Kaniha, as well as school heads and educational officers who contributed to the success of the festival. 

The event began with a ceremonial lighting of the lamp, followed by speeches from the esteemed guests. In his address, Hon’ble MLA Talcher, Shri Braja Kishore Pradhan, highlighted the crucial role of teachers in improving the quality of education in government schools and supporting the overall development of students. He praised the Suravi festival for offering young students a unique opportunity to showcase their talents across diverse fields. He also commended NTPC Kaniha for its continuous support in organizing the event and its dedication to community development. 

The Chief Speaker, Shri Ashok Kumar Sehgal, reiterated NTPC’s commitment to promoting education and nurturing young talents, reaffirming its role as a responsible corporate citizen. He encouraged the students to keep developing their skills and pursue excellence in all fields. 

One of the key aspects of this festival is its three-tier structure, which begins at the block level, with today’s winners moving on to compete at the district level. The final round will take place in Bhubaneswar, where the most talented students from across the state will showcase their skills and creativity. 

At the end of the event, the best performers in each category were awarded trophies and certificates for their outstanding achievements. The dignitaries congratulated all participants and encouraged them to continue their journey toward excellence.
