BJP Rayagada Unit refutes charges leveled against its District President

Rayagada (Badal Tah): After a press meet by Rayagada BJD President N Bhaskar Rao at his residence in Rayagada, a press briefing by Pradip Majhi at Sankha Bhawan, Bhubaneswar and a press conference in the premises of Odisha assembly by three Congress MLAs from Rayagada district namely Appalaswamy Kadraka, Satyajit Gomango & Nilamadhab Hikaka, BJP Rayagada unit had a dialogue with the media persons at its party office in Siriguda.
Pradip Majhi told that BJP President Gopi was threatening the local jewelry association, miller association and industries and asking ransom amounting lakhs of rupees. Gopi has shared a letter in various social media from the Jewelry Association giving a clean chit to him. Association’s President vide its letter no-4/25 dated 23rd March wrote that Gopi had never directly or indirectly demanded one lakh each from the members of their association. “It is unfortunate that certain people have misused the name of their association for their personal gains. Such actions disrupt the peaceful atmosphere of our district and adversely affect our business community as well”, said Amarnath, who has condemned these unwarranted tactics & appealed for preservation of harmony in the region. In a press meet N Bhaskar Rao has requested the authorities to have an impartial inquiry.
It all started from Rayagada ADM Nihar Ranjan Kahanr filing an FIR against Rayagada district BJP President Gopi Anand for misbehaving him by asking information on govt schemes. That to Gopi ordering him in a high pitched voice. When this correspondent cross checked with Gopi, he vehemently refuted the charge and reiterated that it was his duty to ask Kahanr the information to have a reality check of the implementation at ground zero. Next day a group of tribal and dalit youths filed FIR against the said ADM for misbehaving with them when they approached him for putting their grievance to sort out drinking water issue. One of the complainants named Naveen Bidika even shared that he was thrashed by Kahanr when he objected his questioning their religion. According to Bidika, they were told to convert to a particular religion so that their grievance could be addressed.
“There is a false narrative spread by N Bhaskar Rao and Congress MLAs against our district president Gopi Anand. If Gopi is extorting money they should provide proofs or otherwise we will initiate defamation case against them. A fabricated mail from a fake ID has gone to police and many political leaders including that of BJP, which is baseless. Baskar Rao must remember that he is an outsider, murderer of tribal and against this land. Pradip Majhi is anti-tribal for which he has been extradited by his own Bhatra community. Rayagada MLAs should apply their own mind and should not be swayed away by others’ instigation”, said Basanta Ullaka, Rayagada Constituency BJP MLA candidate during a dialogue with the media persons.
“FIR and counter FIR, several press meets antagonistic to each other have made the situation extremely complex. A reconciliation process is a must to settle down the issues so that development deficits can be addressed in a concerted manner in the district”, opined Bijay Mishra, a farmer entrepreneur of the district.
