BIRD CENSUS RESULT 2020 OF BERHAMPUR FOREST DIVISION

Berhampur:The annual bird census began across Ganjam district under DFO,Berhampur division.
the State on Friday. More than 25 teams comprising over 1000 wildlife officials, experts, environmentalists and academicians have been engaged in the headcount exercise at various ranges under this division.
“During the bird census we have restricted many aspects as per forest act. even tourists are also not allowed to visit during the census,” Berhampur DFO Amlan Nayak said.
As per the information extended;72 species 12332 numbers while in 2019 census 89 species 11911 numbers .The major species- Asian open bill stork, 1905. Indian pond heron 1260. Little cormorant- 1195. Little egret- 785, Cattle Egret – 751.
