BERHAMPUR: Bikram Panda,MLA Berhampur has garnered praises after he came forward to perform the last rites of an elderly woman in the city.
The act of young MLA is being perceived as a humanitarian deed amid the recent cases of people who are shunning bodies of their near and dear ones fearing COVID-19.
Reportedly, the deceased died of COVID-19 and her family members did not visit her house in the town.
After being intimated about the incident, the legislator on behalf of ‘Odisha Mo Paribar’ went to the woman’s houseat Kapileswara Petta and performed the woman’s last rites with the help of some BJD members.
