Biker Dies After Being Hit By BDO’s Official Vehicle In Gajapati

Gajapati:One person Dies after being hit byBDOs’ Block Development Officer’s  official vehicle at Podoni Chhak here in Gajapati district.

The deceased has been identified as T Prabhakar (50) of Satamail village.

According to reports, Prabhakar was heading towards some work on a motorcycle when he was hit by the SUV in which Mohana BDO Tapaswini Hansdah was travelling.

Hansdah was heading towards the district-level meeting of the BDOs in the vehicle.

Following the incident, Prabhakar died on the spot.

On such traumatic incident Mohana BDO Tapaswini Hansada confronted her official vehicle with a motor bike at Puduni junction at the outskirts of district headquarter Paralakhemundi. Meanwhile that bike rider TPrabhakar Rao who just over took the vehicle dashed by BDO vehicle & died at spot. Paralakhemundi Police seized that deceased for postmortem to district headquarter hospital Paralakhemundi.

Meanwhile BDO Tapaswini Hansada left immediately from the accident spot without having humanity to help that deceased body to arrange for transportation.

Police had to intervene the accident for investigation. This seemed callousness of an administrator who hardly showed her humanity. This incident talked of the district, where recently by Road Transport department week long safe drive campaign organized. Rather doubt on liquor addiction of driver buzzing around.

Moreso frustration led among deceased family who has been shadowed by district administration to patch up the case. IIC Bibekanand Swain said investigation will be done  over the accident.

On being informed, Paralakhemundi police reached the spot, recovered the body and sent it to the District Headquarters Hospital for post-mortem.

Meanwhile, Police have detained the driver of the SUV and launched a probe into the incident.Rs. 20000 paid to deceased family. Also assured of under rehabilitation to deceased’s son with a compensation of 2 lakhs. On Harishchandra Yojana ex-gratia of Rs. 2000 to family.

During such occasion Collector Gajapati Lingraj Panda, Chairman of Gosani NVeeraraju, BDO Gosani, Tehsildar Paralakhemundi were present.
