Bhakta Nivas in Puri for tourist to stay with Low-Cost @ Pilgrim Centre

PURI:Shri Jagannath Temple Chief Administrator Dr.Krishna Kumar said Bhakta Niwas, a low cost pilgrim centre, would be constructed near Baselisahi police station, close to the temple for devotees visiting Puri.

Dr.Kumar said we have to acquired about 10-acre of land which has been alreday identified for the purpose. We have planned a devotee will have to pay within the limit of Rs 100 to Rs 150 per day to stay in Bhakta Niwas which will have the capacity to accommodate around 3,000 people only.

The Temple Chief Administrator further informed this after the visit of  5T Secretary V.Kartikeyan Pandian and Additional Chief Secretary Suresh Chandra Mahapatra the temple administration assessed the on-going heritage corridor.

During their round asked the local authorities to complete the 20-metre road around the temple and the Swargadwar cremation ground development at the earliest.

Dr.Krishna Kumar apprised the visiting officers about the progress of several projects which were stopped during the lockdown period. The team enquired about the preparations being made to facilitate smooth “DARSHAN” of the deities on December 23. Krishna Kumar told to Scribe that the “Parikrama” around the Meghanad Prachir is being dressed properly and a 20-metre road is being developed around the Meghanad Prachir.In addition to it, construction for a Multi-layer parking place is on progress and another parking place and a Bhakta Niwas building is being developed along the Old Jail road.
