Bhaina arrested in Anti-Extortion Charges; SP, Berhampur Urges People “Dada Bati Ku Naa”

Berhampur: With the festive season of Thakurani Yatra on its way, the Berhampur Badabazar police station IIC,Prashant Bhupati and his team initiate action against anti-social ,no Extortion in Odia “Dada Bati” to prevent extortion menace in Berhampur.
Speaking to scribe,ASP,Mr.Prabhat Routray said, to strengthen the drive, an anti-extortion Mr.Pinak Mishra,SP Berhampur instructed to Inspector-in-Charge of all police stations to create awareness with their respective PS limit and see that how people can lodge their complaints even through What’s-Up or SMS to police station or to police Control room helpline.
SP, Mishra passed a message action against anti-socials demanding extortion will be more stringent in days to come under Berhampur Police District and the police officers of the City will assist the anti-extortion activity. Anything can be stand but “Dada Bati Ku Naa”.
On Wednesday the Badabazar police lead by IIC, Prashant Bhupati arrested accused Siba Patnaik,(27)S/o Prafulla Pattnaik of Uttaramukhi Sahi, Haridakhandi, is arrested and forwarded in connection of “Dada Bati”.
The complainant Lingaraj Nayak a garage owner of 1st Gate reported that on Tuesday afternoon Siba Patnaik and Muna Moharana @ Kona Muna demanded “Dada Bati” and Lingaraj deny to pay the extortion amount to the accused persons as a result they committed robbery of Rs. 20,000/- and a Smart Phone by assaulting Lingaraj Nayak causing bleeding injury on his face.But police able to recover Cash of Rs. 4000/- from his possession of the anti-socials.
Notably, Siba Patnaik is previously involved in 13 numbers of Cognizable Cases of Badabazar. In connection the Badabazar police registered a case u/s 394 IPC.However the investigation of the case is continuing.
