Berhampur University Hosts Spectacular 37th Inter University East Zone Youth Festival “UMANG”

Berhampur University was the center of vibrant cultural exchange as it hosted the grand finale of the 37th Inter University East Zone Youth Festival “UMANG” on February 19th. With participants from 16 universities showcasing their talents across eight diverse categories of events, the campus came alive with energy and enthusiasm.The fourth day commenced with the Biju Pattanaik Auditorium resonating with laughter and applause as nine universities presented their humor and comedy acts in a spirited skit competition during the first half. The entertainment continued in the second half with participants from the same no of universities displaying their solo mimicry performances, leaving the audience in splits.Over at the sports stadium, the morning was filled with grace and rhythm as eight universities mesmerized spectators with classical dance performances. Later, the stadium transformed into a cultural hub as seven universities showcased their skill and creativity in folk orchestra competitions.Meanwhile, the Bhanja Mandap Open Air Theatre witnessed soul-stirring performances as 16 universities enthralled the audience with classical light vocal renditions. Amidst the musical extravaganza, a photography competition themed “Colors of Youth Festival” unfolded, attracting participants from 13 universities who captured the essence of the event through their lenses.The School of Education became a canvas for artistic expression as nine universities competed in a poster-making competition, showcasing their creativity and talent. Simultaneously, the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication buzzed with intricate designs as all 16 universities participated in a lively Mehendi competition, adding a touch of tradition to the festivities.As the day drew to a close, the main attraction was the Open Mic Cultural Programme, where both participants and audience members seized the opportunity to showcase their talents on stage. The evening resonated with a spirit of unity and celebration as performers and spectators came together to create unforgettable memories.The 37th Inter University East Zone Youth Festival “UMANG” at Berhampur University was not only a platform for showcasing talent but also a celebration of diversity, creativity, and cultural exchange.
