Berhampur SP Busts Sex Racket in Plain Cloth

Berhampur: The Berhampur Police on Tuesday busted a sex racket that was running in the garb of a guest house and arrested 10 persons in this connection.
During the raid team led by Dr Saravana Vivek M, Superintendent of Police rescued three sex workers from the guest house.
Following the tip-off about the illegal activities being carried out at a guest house at Berhampur’s premier location Tata Benz square, a plan was hatched by the SP to catch the accused red-handed. As per the plan, the SP himself went as a customer by a Motor cycle in plain clothes to the guest house. Later, he alerted the cops of Baidyanathpur police stations which conducted a surprise raid and made the arrests.The associates are Inspector BN Pur Ram Chandra Murmu and other , Officers including lady Police staff.
Out of 10 detained persons, some are dalals and rest others customers The rescued girls belonged to West Bengal and north-east region of the country, police said.The sex racket had reportedly been going on in the guest house for long.
According to Dr Saravana, SP,BNPur police received a credible information from reliable source regarding prostitution going on at ” Tulsi Guest House ” located at Tatabenz Square , Berhampur .
On the basis of input a police team was formed and raid was conducted over ” Tulsi Guest House” .
During raid team detected women and men in compromising position in room no 14,16 & 17 ( Total 03 victims and 06 customers ) and also found used and unused luxury condoms , empty liquor bottles along with glasses , Gold Flake cigarette packets , strips of Manforce Tablet strips of tablets 4- 12 mobile phones and cash Rs 31,950/-.
While enquired those three women revealed that they are from Kolkata and are involved in the flesh trade.
During investigation it was found that Gopi Behera @Rajanikant was the kingpin who brought the women from Kolkata for flesh trade Rajesh Kumar Bisoyi currently runs Tulsi guest house based on lease he made with the building owner . He was getting commission out of the Prostitution to do prostitution work.
It was revealed that Gopi Behera @Rajanikant and Rajesh Kumar Bisoyi along with his agents Suman Sahu , Prafulla Kumar Sahu , Raja Pradhan and Chandan Kumar Sahu were acting as agents by courting customers through whatsapp and facebook . During detection K. Dibakar Reddy , Nitesh Sahu , S . Kiran Reddy , S. Bhagirathi Reddy , Rabi Kumar Sahu and K. Sankar Achary were customers The apprehended customers confessed their indulgence in the flesh trade.
All three victims kept at correctional home after producing them before the court and further investigation is underway.Steps will be taken to get courts permission to seal the place he added. Against all the 14 people including the sex workers were taken to the police station where they are being interrogated, by the police.
A case was registered U / S U / S 3/4/5/6/7 of Prevention of Immoral Trafficking Act 1.
