Berhampur Police Determination to Highjack the SoundSleep; again Hardcore Danda Maharana  arrested for supplying illegal Pistol

BERHAMPUR,(09/01.2026): Accused Persons arrested on 21.12.2025 ;(1) Subham Majhi (22),S/o Late Siba Shankar Majhi, at present. Koutika Nagar, 2nd Line, Berhampur, Gosaninuagaon police station limit. While the Permanent Address: Routpetta Sámi, under Bada Bazar, Police Station, Berhampur.(2) Alok Malik (26),S/o Late Upendra Malik, of Village,Butulu,Purushottampur.Both accused persons were arrested and forwarded to court on 21.12.2025.

 Brief factual of the Case: Berhampur Town Police arrested the above two accused persons in connection with the case.

The case was registered on the written report of one Rabi Sethi (45), Bada Bazaar, Berhampur. Case Reference:- Berhampur Town PS Case No. 604, dated 20.12.2025,registered under Sections ;

126(2)/115(2)/79/109/308(5)/351(2)(3)/324(2)/3(5) BNS r/w Sec 25/27 Arms Act and Sec 3(1)(r)(s)/3(2)(va) SC/ST (POA) Act.  Turned to Sec 111 ( 2) )b) of BNS ( Organised Crime)

 Investigation revealed that the accused persons threatened and assaulted the complainant on 02.12.2025 and 03.12.2025, restrained him at different locations, damaged his mobile phone, abused him using caste-related words and demanded Rs. 70,000/- (“Dada Bati”).

Following arrest, police seized:

– One pistol

– One sword

– Mobile phones

– One TVS scooter No- OD 07 AY 3913

– One mephentermine sulphate (Terming) injection bottle

– Two syringes

These articles were recovered from the possession of accused Subham Majhi.

Both accused were arrested at Bijipur and produced before the Hon’ble Court on 21.12.2025

Further investigation revealed that antisocial Danda Maharana, aged45, S/o. of late. Kalu Maharana of Bila Sahi, Gate Bazar had supplied country made Pistol to Subham Majhi which has already been recovered from Subham Majhi and seized on 20.12.25.

Accused . Danda Maharana is arrested today i.e. 09.01.26 and forwarded to court.
