Berhampur Police Destroys Ganja & Brown Sugar

Berhampur:during the massive campaign against the narcotics during last couple of months especially Ganja (also known as Cannabis/ Marijuana/ weeds) and Brown sugar (also known as Heroin/ smack) by Berhampur police, there has been a huge piling up of seized narcotic drugs.
Today the Berhampur District Drugs Disposal Committee under the Chairmanship of SP, Berhampur along with other members (SP Excise & Tahasildar, Seragada) destroyed 6,340.7 Kg of Ganja & 268 g Brown Sugar of Excise Enforcement & Intelligence Bureau, Berhampur unit and Gosaninuagaon and Digapahandi PSs of Berhampur district on Thursday at Common Biomedical Waste Treatment and Disposal facility, Sheragada.
Notably The seized drugs were first authenticated/ certificated by the concerned court and handed over to the Drug disposal committee for disposal/destruction. On the decision of the Committee, today the Committee led by SP,disposed of /destructed the drug
These Ganja were seized in 126 cases of EI&EB , 42 cases of Berhampur Excise department & 4 cases of Gosaninuagaon PS & Digapahandi PS.
Previously, 4972.5 kg Ganja & 9.48g Brown sugar has been destroyed in 5 times.
All together so far 11,313.2 kg Ganja & 277.48 g Brown sugar has been destroyed at the same facility 268 g Brown sugar destroyed today. 277g Brown sugar destroyed altogether till now.
