BERHAMPUR POLICE CLEAROUT A GROUP OF CAT-BURGLAR WITH HUGE RECOVERY

BERHAMPUR: In the intervening night of 23/24.09.2020 some unknown culprits committed theft of gold ornament weighing about 600 grams, cash of Rs. 4,42,000/- from the house of Sunil Panigrahi of Bedabandha Sahi under Gosaninuagaon PS vide Gosaninuagaon PS case No. 119 Dt. 24.09.2020 U/s457/380 IPC was registered.
Since last one year several cases of house burglary has taken place in Lochapada, Shakti Nagar, Govinda Vihar under Sadar P.S, Banchhanidhi Nagar, Saradhabali, Medical quarters of Baidyanathpur police limit,Basanta Vihar and, Bima Nagar under Gopalpur Police station.
In order to detect the cases, SP Berhampur,Pinak Mishra shaped a team of Officers in action under the supervision of Prabhat Routray,ASP comprising of BP Pati,SDPO, Berhampur,Sarada Prasanna Dash,IIC,Badiyanathpur,Sumeet Soren,IIC,Gosaninuagaon,Prashant Bhupati,IIC Badabazar,Ms Santoshi Oram, IIC Sadar and young Sub-inspectors of Berhampur Dist was formed.
On receipt of reliable information regarding involvement of the following criminals the above team apprehended them on 25/26-11-2020 night.
During interrogation they confessed to have jointly committed the following property offence in the above localities in the last one year.
The Berhampur police have recovered the valuables from the possession of the accused persons and the goldsmiths.
Gold ornaments weighing 540 grams and silver ornaments weighing 100 grams,Cash of Rupees 30,000/-, Chevrolet Cruze Model Car bearing Reg. No. DL 10 CB 4027, KTM Bike bearing Reg No. OD 07 AG 0661, Suzuki Burman Street bike bearing No OD 07 AD 9135,TVS Jupiter motorcycle bearing Reg No OD 07 F 4194 (used in committing crime). Sony Bravia 43” LED Colour TV and Philips 32” Colour TV,Sony DSLR camera, Nikon Camera, One Sony VIO Laptop, Titan wrist watch, Fast Track watch, Gold moulding gas burner and other materials.
The accused persons have identified as;Santosh Sahu (27)of Reddika Sahi Patapur, presently residing at Niladri Vihar 3rd line, Berhampur Town, Deepak Mahapatra @Dipu @Gosein (21) of Village-Khalingi,at present Badadanda Sahi,under Gosaninugaon Police limit.
Subsequently police have arrested the receivers of the gold ornaments.A.Monoj Kumar Senapati @ Appala Anna (56) of Krishnamapeta Sahi, Siba Shankar Sahu@AnteiPani (41) of Dharmanagar, Haridakhandi. Rabindra Kumar Sahu (39) of Acharjya Street, Haridakhandi. The investigation of the case is in progress.The accused persons have confessed to have involvement in the following cases.
