Berhampur Police Broken Rs.3.5L from Duo “Sree-420”

Berhampur;Badabazar Police, Berhampur on Monday arrested two master mind guys for allegedly duping people of around Rs 3.55 lakhs with dubious schemes towards purchasing Mobile phones sets on Finance by Bajaj Finance in Berhampur City.
According to police source, there has been an allegation of some innocent people regarding opening of Bajaj Finance Card in their name and debit of EMIs from their bank accounts towards purchasing of mobile phones through Bajaj Finance Ltd. without their knowledge.
During investigation it has been learnt that the accused Jagannath Sahu (30) of Martha Sahi, Old Berhampur who was authorised by Bajaj Finance Ltd. for business and was doing business at Ganesh Market collected the Adhaar, Bank Account details and mobile numbers of innocent people with assurance to handover a Bluetooth worth of Rs 1500/- at a cost of Rs. 500/- only.
He deceitfully induced the persons to share the OTP number from respective mobile phones and by using the OTP number he generated loans from Bajaj Finance Ltd and purchased 17 mobile phones from Today’s Mobile shop of Ganesh Market and sold it to accused Swagat Panigrahi (22) of Sunamundia, area Gosaninugaon at cut-throw rate., police said.
has been collected an amount of Rs. 3,55,000/- from the possession of accused Jagannath Sahu and misappropriated by him. The receiver Swagat Panigrahi purchased the mobile phones with sufficient knowledge that the mobile phones are procured by the accused Jagannath Sahu deceitfully. The accused persons have been arrested and will be forwarded to court.
The case has been registered basis on the report written FIR by Pravanjan Rath, Asst. Manager of Bajaj Finance, Dharmanagar Branch, Berhampur. In this connection, Badabazar Police registered a case on dated 03.04.2021,u/s.420/465/467/468/471/406/34 IPC.
The investigation of the case is in progress.
