Berhampur Police arrested Overseas Employment Officer

Berhampur: The fake job offers are on the rise in State many youths have been duped here under the alleged reason of being offered jobs in foreign countries.

The prime accused, Sanjaya Kumar Jena age about 41yrs  who had assured the aspiring youths  to work abroad has been arrested by the team of Badabazar Police,Berhampur lead by Inspector,Prashant Bhupati.

Sanjaya was trapped after police tracked him continuously. With successful investigation of the racket of Overseas Job Offer Fraud who has been detected with the support of Intelligence input. Police team where the accused has issued fake Offer letters, Passport and VISAs’ with the false assurance of employment opportunities to the aspiring youths to engage in foreign countries like Maldives and Brunei.

The bank account statement of Sanjaya yet to search to establish the support and progress of our investigation as a major support and  evidence, but our constant efforts are on to nab the others involved, Notably, the accused has also been alleged of leading a luxurious life style. Said Police.

The Investigating officers has arrested the accused Sanjay Kumar Jena from Nayapalli, Bhubaneswar on Friday and from his possession police have seized one laptop, one mobile phone handset, SIM cards, 5 nos Passports, 13 Cheque books of different Banks, 13 numbers of bank account passbooks, Screenshots of e-mail communication and blank letter Pads of different multi-national and international Companies and other relevant documents.

According to source, neither the youths were provided job nor did the money they deposited was refunded (?).In connection the Badabazar police registered a case u/s 406/420/465/467/468/471/34 IPC r/w Sec. 66D of Information Technology Act. Sanjaya was arrested and forwarded to court on Saturday.

Investigation of the case is in progress.
