Berhampur Police arrest Fraudster Duping Money

Berhampur:The Gosaninuagaon Police have arrested one person in connection with an inter-state fraudster practice.
The accuse person identified as Ajay Kumar (32 yrs) S/O: Vijay Kumar of Data Patti, near Durga Mandir, Golia Kalan, P.S. Baghapurana, Dist. Moga (PUNJAB).
According to police Superintendent Mr Pinak Mishra,on 16.06.2021 the above noted case as registered on the complain of Smruti Rupa Rath wherein she has alleged that the above noted accused came in contact with the complainant in “Quikr Matrimonial” site impersonating himself as a SBI Officer. Subsequently on 25.01.2019 their marriage was registered at Family Court, Chandigarh. The complainant came to know that, the accused is not a SBI Officer. There was matrimonial dispute for which the complainant left her in-law’s house at Moga district of Punjab and came back to her house to Berhampur. The formal marriage was held at Berhampur on 27.06.2019. After 02 days of their marriage the accused fled away from Berhampur. The accused on different false pleas of his health condition succeeded in impressing the complainant and her father and they transferred total amount of Rs 14,07,020/- to the accused through bank. The complainant came to know that the accused is a fraudster and cheated her. The accused was arrested from his village Golia Kalan under Baghapurana Police Station of District Moga, PUNJAB on 26.12.2021 and produced in the Court of SDJM Nihal Singh Wala, Moga (PUNJAB).
The case came to light after an FIR was registered in Gosaninuagaon Police station by Smruti Rupa Rath (35 yrs) D/O: Subash Chandra Rath of Nehru Nagar 8th Lane, P.S. Gosaninuagaon, Berhampur. Entertain the FIR the police have registered a case u/s 419/420/498-A/ 417/406 IPC/ 66-C/66-D of IT Act.
Transit remand was allowed and he was brought to Berhampur Monday and being produced in the Court of SDJM Berhampur today. Investigation of the case is in progress.
