Berhampur Forest Dept.Seized Paradeep Trawler at Rushikulya Mouth in Ganjam

Berhampur: On Tuesday the Forest officials under Berhampur Forest Division have seized a fishing trawler named “MAA Manjushree Mangala” from Paradeep at Rushikulya river mouth and in connection arrested 12 persons on charge of violating fishing ban imposed in the area of Ganjam district.
Divisional Forest Officer Amlan Nayak said in his official tweet, the marine products being handed over to fisheries department to be dealt under OMFRA act of Fisheries Dept.The ban has been imposed in the zone due to mass nesting of Olive Ridley turtles at this time of the year. This is the second seizure of the season, he added.
