News,Odishabarta
Berhampur,( 27/02/26):In a breakthrough against property crime, the Bada Bazar Police intercepted a motorcycle theft duo during a routine check, leading to the recovery of three stolen vehicles and the arrest of a repeat offender.
The Apprehension
During a proactive Motor Vehicle (MV) checking operation near the Honda Showroom on Aska Road, officers spotted a motorcycle without a registration plate being driven recklessly. Police detained the vehicle and identified the riders as:
Rahul Khetri (21), a resident of Laxminrusingha Sahi, Berhampur.
and a 17 yr old minor (Child in Conflict with the Law).
The Investigation & Recovery
While the suspects initially fumbled when asked for documentation, police utilized an E-Challan machine to verify the vehicle’s details. The chassis and engine numbers revealed the bike was a Bajaj V15 (OD 07 N 6457), which had been reported stolen from Martha Sahi just two days prior (Bada Bazar PS Case No. 132/2026).
Following a detailed interrogation and a “Leading to Discovery” process under Section 23(2) of the Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam (BSA), the accused led police to an abandoned site in Pichipichia Nagar, where two more stolen motorcycles were hidden.
Recovered Property:
Bajaj V15 (Red) – Regd No. OD 07 N 6457 (Stolen 24.02.2026)

Hero Honda Passion Plus (Red) – Regd No. OR 07 P 2728 (Stolen 29.01.2026)

Having been released on conditional bail, he immediately resumed criminal activities, demonstrating a blatant disregard for the law.
