Balasore a Hub for Brown Sugar Traders

Bhubaneswar: On Friday basis of intelligence input, a raid was conducted by team of STF , Bhubaneswar at Sahadev khunta area, Balasore against illegal trade of Narcotic Drugs, as result of which two accused persons namely Manas Mukhi of Aradabazar and Kamalkanta Das of Haripur , Balasore were apprehended.
During search Brown sugar weighing 1 kg 360 Gms, One Stolen M/c (without Regd number) and other incriminating materials were recovered & seized from their possession.
The accused persons could not produce any valid authority in support of possession of such contraband material, for which the accused persons were arrested and will be forwarded to the court. In this connection STF PS Case No. 18 dated 01.05.2021 U/s. 21(c)/29 NDPS Act, 1985 was registered. The above noted accused persons were also involved in many other criminal cases. Investigation is on.
Since 2020, STF in the special drive against narcotic drugs has seized more than 30 kg Brown Sugar/ heroin and more than 64 quintals (6400 kg) of Ganja/Marijuna and arrested more than 100 drug dealers/peddlers.
