Bada Bazar Police Busted Vehicle Lifter in Berhampur

Berhampur: Bada Bazar police under Berhampur police district today busted an intra-state vehicle lifter and recovered three Vehicles from his possession.
Bada Bazaar Police have arrested one person in this connection and forwarded to court. The arrested have been identified as Ujir Khan (57) of Village Mukunda Prasad, under Khorda Town police station, Dist- Khorda.
The recovered vehicles include Mahindra Bolero Regd. No OR-02-BA-2974,Scorpio Car (Black) Regd. No. OD-05-V-4488 andTata Nexon Regd. No OD-02-R-6150.
In release it said, In the recent past, 6 numbers of Bolero and Pick-up vans were stolen from Berhampur. During investigation of the above noted case, by IIC Badabazar PS Prashant Bhupati and staff, the vehicle bearing Regd. No OR-02-BA-2974 which was stolen on 12.01.2022 night from Panigrahi Nagar, Bada Bazar was recovered from the exclusive possession of accused Ujir Khan at Taraboi, Jatani. Two other vehicles black colour Scorpio with Regd. No. OD-05-V-4488 and Tata Nexon Regd. No OD-02-R-6150 has also been seized from different places at village Bena Panjari under Jatani P.S.
The vehicles were being utilised by the accused persons for theft of cattle at different places of Odisha and selling the same to others. The Scorpio was used by the accused persons for the journey of the accused persons from Khorda to Berhampur for committing theft of other vehicles. The investigation of the case is in progress to apprehend rest of the accused persons and seizure of the stolen vehicles.The accused was arrested yesterday and being forwarded to court today.
