Assessment camp organized to provide digital hearing aids to the hearing impaired.

Sunabeda: 29/06/23: Koraput District Social Security and Disability Empowerment Department in collaboration with Koraput District Association of the Deaf  organized an assessment camp for the hearing impaired at Sunabeda Hearing Impaired School.In this regard Koraput District Social Security Officer Simanchal Mohapatra, President of Koraput District Deaf Association  Sheikh Ibrahim, Koraput Block Social Security Officer Ahana Baid, Pattangi Block Social Security Officer T. Survi  participated  in the said programme and highlighted the need for organizing such camp.

Mr. Mahapatra also informed about the various programmes of the government for the welfare of the hearing impaired.  Head Master of Sunabeda School for the Hearing Impaired Kelu Charan Mohanty translated the speech of the speakers into sign language for the understanding of the Hearing Impaired  persons. Audiologist Madhusmita Samantaray of Koraput DEI Center attended the camp as an expert and examined the ears of 33 hearing impaired men and women who had registered in the camp and prepared a provisional assessment plan for providing digital programmable hearing aids to the hearing impaired. Secretary of  District Deaf Association Chintamani Anshakmani Prusty, Interpreter Meena Kumari Prusty, Ranjan Sahu and  Sanghamitra Sahu along with teachers of the school assisted in conducting the assessment camp.
