ASI MAHILA PS, BERHAMPUR NABBED BY ODISHA VIGILANCE WHILE TAKING BRIBE

Berhampur : SMT BABITA SUNA, ASST.SUB INSPECTOR OF POLICE, MAHILA PS, BERHAMPUR NABBED BY ODISHA VIGILANCE WHILE TAKING BRIBE RS 10,000/- TO HELP  IN A CASE .

Today i.e on 4.6.2025 , Smt Babita Suna, ASI, Mahila P.S. Berhampur has been apprehended by Odisha Vigilance while demanding and taking bribe Rs.10,000/-  from a complainant to help him and his mother involved in a case registered earlier in  Mahila PS, of which she was the Investigating Officer*. ASI Smt Suna was threatening to arrest complt in the above case, unless she was paid the demanded  bribe Rs.10,000/-.  Finding no other ways, complt reported the matter to Vigilance authorities. Following which,  Vigilance Sleuths nabbed Smt Suna, ASI, today, *while taking bribe Rs 10,000/- from the complt*. *The entire bribe money has been recovered from the possession of accused Suna, ASI and seized*.

Following the successful trap, simultaneous searches are going on at two locations of Smt Suna, ASI from DA angle.

In this connection, Berhampur Vigilance PS case no 7/2025 , U/s-7PC (Amendment) Act, 2018 has been registered. Investigation is in progress against accused Smt Suna, ASI.
