KORAPUT:The Andhra Pradesh administration and politicians are playing with innocent tribals in Kotia.  Now, after all sorts of temptations, another trick is playing.  Another attempt was made to attract 22 villagers from Kotia village in Patangi block of Koraput district.

Andhra Pradesh played the game after a meeting between Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jaganmohan Reddy and Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.  Vijayanagaram district commissioner, Salur constituency officer and PO ITDA have written to the people of these villages to stay in Andhra Pradesh to attract the tribals living in the village.

The day the two chief ministers met in Bhubaneswar over the border dispute, Andhra’s agent had reportedly written to people from different villages.  It is alleged that the ambassador provided the information to Hussein.

According to the Andhra Pradesh administration, the disputed Kotia area is located in the Salur area of Vijayanagaram district.  Andhra Pradesh and Odisha have been at loggerheads for 22 years over the border.  According to the Odisha government, Kotia panchayat has 28 villages and 12 padagrams.  The panchayat, which consists of a total of 40 villages, has a population of seven.  Of the 40 villages in the panchayat, 27 are in dispute.  Of these, 21 are revenue villages and 4 are padagrams.  The controversial Pada villages are Lower Gaizai Padar, Kurudi Padar, Janiguda, Pankubalsa, Tank Balsa and Upper Paniki.  However, there is no dispute in Barabandha, Thuria, Mathalamba, Gumel Padar, Tal Kanti, Katraguda and Suliamari villages in Kotia panchayat.  Eight villages, including Upper Barabandha, Karanjguda, Tau Padar, Phulpadar, Kodiamba and Salem Padar, remain undisputed.  It is alleged that the ambassador provided the information to the Andhra Pradesh government.  They will take part in the Odisha panchayat elections and join Andhra Pradesh.  “The rescue squad wasn’t called for him,” she told the Associated Press.

However, while the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister is touring Odisha and cooperating with other projects along the border dispute, various questions have been raised as to how such controversial information was written by  Salur MLA  Rajnna Dora on her social media.  Such a move by a legislator has sparked controversy as the two state chief secretaries-level committees are set to be formed.  An all-party meeting was held in Koraput yesterday to discuss the issue.  Today, the all-party leader expressed strong dissatisfaction with such actions of the Salur legislator.
