ANGANWADI WORKER GETS ACCOLADES FOR SELFLESS SERVICE

NUAPADA,The Dhobighat Anganwadi worker Shantilata Majhi(60) under Boden block in Nuapada district has earned laurels for her selfless service.
She has received compliments from no other person than the Principal Secretary of Women and Child Development Anu Garg for working tirelessly to provide service to the people even during the ongoing COVID-19 situation.
Garg said Majhi has become an example for all those who are working as frontline warriors to banish the dreaded coronavirus from the State.
Majhi even at this age travels miles to distribute ration to the beneficiaries. She is being helped by her grandson. She has four sons and three daughters. Her husband died long ago. She has been working as an Aganwadi worker since 1986 and has been performing her duty selflessly.
The village has a population of 230 comprising 56 families. The Anganwadi centre has registered 22 children, 5 pregnant women and 10 postnatal.
She traverses the whole region on foot and undertakes awareness programmes initiated by the government from time to time. Majhi undertakes vaccination and other programmes for the betterment of the child and the mother.
