All Party including independent candidates file nominations for Koraput Municipal

Koraput:Monday the final day  to file nomination papers for the Koraput Municipal Council elections.  BJD and BJP candidates filed their nomination papers as independent candidates with the party’s presidential candidate.  Candidates from both parties, including the Presidential Candidate, submitted their nomination papers.  Candidates from some of the remaining party councilors have also filed nominations.  A working journalist from Koraput has also filed his nomination papers as an independent candidate.  Yesterday, Debananda Behera filed his nomination papers as the Congress candidate for the presidency.  The focus of the last day will be on the three main party candidates.  Today, young leader Lalat Ranjan Sethi, who is the BJD’s presidential candidate, came out in a huge procession and submitted his nomination papers.  Meanwhile, Pattangi MLA Pitam Padhy, former Pattangi MLA Praful Pangi, district BJD vice-president Utkal Ranjan Nayak, former Koraput MLA Gupta Prasad Das, district women president Lata Rai, women leader Rita Panigrahi, senior leader Raghuram Machh and Ashwini Sahu  Leaders and activists were present.  BJD presidential candidate Shri Sethi said that the state government has come down to the polls on the basis of the state government’s development plan and pro-people activities.  He thanked the Chief Minister for giving him the ticket and expressed his confidence in him.  In each ward under the Koraput municipality, he will lead the development of the municipality by sharing the joys and sorrows of the people.  G. Sanjib Kumar, a staunch leader of the BJP, filed his nomination papers as the party’s chairman.  Independent candidate Bhushit Bidika has made a name for himself in the district as a well-known journalist.  During his 20-year-long career as a journalist, people have come to Lochan to show their problems on TV, regardless of day, night, drought, or rain.  “There are a lot of problems in Koraput,” he said.  Candidates from both parties and candidates from the council came in procession with DJs, Koraputia tribal bazaars and dances and submitted their nomination papers.  Koraput was in the procession.

 A total of 32,265 voters will cast their ballots in the 21-ward Koraput municipal council on the 24th.  Candidates from the three main parties will contest the by-elections, depending on whether they enter politics for the first time.  On the other hand, Janata Janardhan will vote for the candidate in view of the development and improvement of the city.
