Aditya Alumina & Centurion Univ Sign MoU to Establish Vet Care Hospital
Rayagada (Badal Tah): In a significant step towards strengthening rural animal healthcare and promoting sustainable livelihoods, Aditya Alumina Refinery, Kansariguda (a unit of Hindalco Industries Limited, Aditya Birla Group) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Centurion University of Technology and Management (CUTM) to establish a state-of-the-art Veterinary Care Hospital in the Kansariguda region.
This pioneering initiative, under Hindalco’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program, aims to provide high-quality veterinary services for cattle, goats, poultry, and stray animals, addressing the critical need for accessible animal healthcare in rural communities.
The veterinary hospital will be supported by a dedicated Animal Health Van equipped with mobile ambulatory services, ensuring comprehensive outreach across 50 villages in the Kansariguda and Laxmipur areas. The facility will play a key role in improving livestock health, enhancing productivity, and supporting the economic well-being of rural households.
“This initiative reflects our deep commitment to inclusive growth, sustainable development, and making a meaningful difference at the grassroots level through veterinary care,” said Mr. Mazhar Beig, Unit Head and President, Aditya Alumina Refinery.
In addition to veterinary services, the project adopts a holistic approach to community development by promoting sustainable livelihoods, enhancing income generation, and empowering rural communities through improved animal husbandry practices. Centurion University will serve as the implementing partner, bringing in technical expertise and on-ground operational support to ensure the effective rollout and long-term success of the initiative.
The MoU was formally signed by Mr. Mazhar Beig, Unit Head and President, Aditya Alumina Refinery, and Dr. Anita Patra, Registrar, Centurion University, in the presence of Prof. Dr. Mukti Kanta Mishra, President, CUTM, Arundhati Biswal, Director – Partnerships, CUTM, Deepak Mohanty, Head – HR, Aditya Alumina Refinery, Mrutyunjaya Lenka, Vice President – Mines, Tanmaya Mohanty, Head – CSR & R&R, Aditya Alumina Refinery & other senior officials from both organizations.
This initiative reinforces Hindalco’s long-standing commitment to community welfare and sustainable rural development, positioning animal healthcare as a catalyst for inclusive growth.
