VIRTUAL RELEASE OF GANTAYAT SIBA PRASASAD’S ENGLISH POETRY BOOK “GOD & OTHER POEMS” ON HIS 51th BIRTH ANNIVERSARY

RAYAGADA: Gantayat Siba Prasad was a Rayagada born versatile author and columnist, who contributed a series of books on satire to the literary world of Odisha. His new book “God & other poems”- an anthology of literary enshrined poems translated into English by eminent author and media personality Ramesh Patnaik is just published by Bhubaneswar based premier publishing house Penin Books. On the occasion of 51st birth anniversary Siba Prasad the same was virtually released in Facebook live last Tuesday in Sibasmruti Samaroha organised by the departed author’s brother poet and columnist Satyanarayan Gantayat.
Noted educationist and author Dr.Dushmant Kumar Mohanty released the book and offered his tributes besides highlighting how Sibaprasad was committed to creativity in spite of all physical hardships. Teacher Dwiti Chandra Sahu, another well known young writer from this hinterland, attended and reminisced high of the multitalented author and invoked for publishing the remaining works of Late Siba Prasad. Quotes on life by Sibaprasad were presented and discussed matching the pandemic times needing succour for survival. While the whole world is now reeling under high duress, works of Siba Prasad kindled new hopes for sustenance. Satyanarayan Gantayat moderated the entire literary event and extended vote of thanks to all present on the occasion including the participants on line.
