Chief Minister,Odisha Grants Rs.15 Lakh aid for Journalist Prabiir Pradhan

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government on Wednesday granted financial assistance of Rs 15 lakh to the kin of deceased working journalist of News18 Prabir Pradhan who succumbed to coronavirus infection on 5th November.Pradhan was a senior dynamic crime reporter with an Odia news channel and lost his life following Covid complications while under treatment.
Chief Miister, Naveen Patnaik issue an order to release the fund for Rs 15 lakh from the Government Treasury to provide assistant for the Pradhan’s family.

Following the Rule-7 of the Odisha Working Journalists Welfare Fund Rules-2006 read with this Department Notification N. 5829/IPR Dt. 03/06/2020. sanction is here by accorded for drawl of Rs.15,00,000- to provide financial assistance in favour the of kin of the deceased working journalist Prabir Kumar Pradhan of News18.
