Two Kingpins of IPL Betting arrested

BERHAMPUR:In connection to Gosaninuagaon police station case No 141 dated 29th Oct a team had proceeded to Bhubaneswar for apprehension of accused person.
The Kingpin Vishal Kumar Agarwal was apprehended from outside of Biju Patnaik International Airport, Bhubaneswar while he was trying to flee away Hyderabad.
According to intelligence input Kingpin Vishal and his another associate accused Ajit Kumar Barada @ Badal was apprehended at Gopalpur junction,Berhampur while he was trying to fled Hyderabad by a Maruti Breeza Car regn No- OD07AE-2442 towards Bhubaneswar Airport.
Acting on the tip-off relating to the organization of illegal online cricket betting racket on the Indian Premier League (IPL), both are arrested by Police team lead by Summet Soren IIC, Gosninuagaon, Berhampur.
Police have recovered and seized Cash Rs.1, 95,500/-,7 nos Mobile sets with SIM cards, TM cards and Car from the duo.
Notably, on 29th Oct, Gosaninuagaon Police busted a gang of IPL betting racket and arrested two accused persons namely R. Lalie Achary and K. Prasant Kumar Subudhi and seized Rs 33,61,200 along with mobile phone handsets and other incriminating articles. On thorough interrogation, it is ascertained that the accused persons used to play in various online betting websites. The accused persons have conspired themselves with the help of agents of different cities like Kolkata, Mumbai, Delhi, and Dubai and collected a huge sum of money from the general gullible public to bet online in IPL cricket with a false assurance of getting a profitable margin of return.
Including this success so far four accused persons have been arrested in this case of cricket betting and investigation continues, told by Prabhat Routray, ASP, Berhampur.
