FINALITY OF CORPORATION BANK MERGING WITH UNION BANK OF INDIA
Bureau,Odishabarta
It may cause a big uncontrollable rush at all branches of erstwhile Corporation Bank. Same is likely to happen with customers of erstwhile Andhra Bank which is also merged with Union Bank of India. For ensuring minimum gathering of customers in affected bank-branches of merged banks contrary to much-required social distancing because of corona-crisis, new pass-books in name of Union Bank of India may be sent to all those affected customers by Speed or Registered Post to all those having operated their accounts at least once since 01.04.2020 which is effective date of merger and start of on-going financial-year with entries in new pass-books done starting from 01.04.2020. All such customers should also be sent new cheque-books of Union Bank of India because in present era of digital banking, those making on-line banking require copy of cancelled cheque of the payee which should be of Union Bank of India incorporating IFSC code and other details of Union Bank of India. At least senior citizens must be provided such a facility to get new pass-books and cheque-books by post without requiring any request or visit to the affected bank-branch.
