13 MINOR GIRLS ESACPE FROM SHELTER HOME IN BERHAMPUR (!).

Berhampur:Thirteen minors managed to escape their shelter home at Goshani Nuagaon of Berhampur city in Ganjam under Gosainuagaon police limit.They passes a broken wall and made use of the darkness to escape in wee hours of Tuesday.

The girls belonged to Utkal Balashram and were housed in it for various reasons from being ostracized and abandoned by families to rendered homeless after being orphaned.

Superintendent of the Balasharam Sasmitarani Padhi said, “All girls were in their respective beds when checked last night by me personally.Today morning I noticed their absence and immediately notified Child Welfare Committee and Police station”.

According to IIC Gosainuagaon PS Mr.Sumeet Soren, the girls made use of the broken wall behind the shelter home’s main building which neither had proper lighting nor was covered by any CCTV cameras. At about 1 am on Tuesday the girls made an escape. However we a team already moved to  Bhubaneswar in collaboration with the Commissionerate Police, we are trying to locate the girls to rescue them. Very soon he added.”

As per the latest information the Watchman, Security guard and House Mother were suspended.
