UNCONTROLLABLE CORONA IN DELHI MAY KILL MANY INNOCENTS WITH CONCERNED ONES HAVING CLOSED THEIR EYES ON THE SITUATION

DELHI:While corona-graph throughout the country is fast declining, Delhi is witnessing an unprecedented daily rise in number of new corona-cases. Present situation in Delhi has emerged because of hurry in unlocking the complete system and ever-increasing lawlessness in form of roads and footpaths being encroached to the level that even pedestrians do not get space to walk thus making mockery of much-required social-distancing.

Central and Delhi governments should re-impose restricted lockdown in the city by again closing religious-institutions, cinema-halls, restaurants and other such places with restriction in gatherings imposed for any type of celebrations including marriage-related ceremonies to maximum 50. Not more than 20 persons may be allowed in any cremation.

City-life should be strictly disciplined by imposing emergency-like conditions to remove all encroachments from roads, footpaths and public-places so that pedestrians may be practically able to maintain social-distancing. Municipal-councillors, MLAs should be made accountable apart from area officials from civic bodies and police to ensure a totally encroachment-free city. Presently shop-keepers occupy a part of road apart from complete footpath for unauthorizedly extending their shops like at Ramchandra Dehlvi Marg (Esplanade Road) in Chandni Chowk. Main road including entrance to main hub for so many wholesale commodities Bhagirath Palace is totally encroached by illegal vendors with no authority listening to traders of the market who are risking their lives to corona by going to their shops.

Two-day week-end complete lockdown from 10 pm on Friday to 6 am on Monday should be experimented after having a a uniform weekly-off system of Sunday in all markets. Already Mumbai has system of uniform weekly-off for complete city on Sundays.
