ROURKELA: Yesterday the Immersion festival or Bhasni Yatra has been concluded peacefully in Rourkela with a disciplined manner.
Almost eighty idols of Maa Durga were being immersed near Balughat where the local administration had arranged an artificial pond where in with the help of a crane all idols were put into water. This time the immersion festival is not observed the way it was happening every year before corona. Few committee members were allowed to reach the ghat as per the predefined guidelines. No music, no light decoration and most importantly no procession was fixed as per the new corona guidelines for this year puja. This time durga Puja was not observed the way it was been organized during pre-covid times.
The local administration had set up a control room this year near Balughat for proper immersion of idols. But, for sure, all these precautionary measures are good for the mankind and to check the corona infections. Administration of Rourkela has also thanked the Puja committee for their support and organizing puja this year with due diligence to guidelines set by the local administration. There were 20 platoon of police were deployed in different areas to monitor the immersion ceremony.
