CONCORDIA 2020- NATIONAL LEVEL STUDENTS MEDIA FEST

BHUBANESWAR:Xavier School of Communications (XCOMM) hosted its third edition of national level student’s media fest Concordia 2020, virtually on 17th October, 2020. The event sought to break the tough and monotonous lifestyle of the students due to pandemic and gave them a chance to showcase their talent in their areas of interest. The media fest brought together more than 150 participants from 12th and the undergraduate level students from almost 55 institutions from across India to promote aptitude, a flair for ingenuity and creativity among them.

Holding a media fest was an important occasion as highlighted in the inaugural address by Prof. V. Vijay Kumar (Acting Dean, School of Communications) for the general well-being of students and for keeping their morale high in this challenging time of the pandemic. He welcomed all the participants from different schools from across the country and wished them good luck for their respective events. Prof. Sutapa Pati(Dean, Student Affairs) addressed the gathering by thanking all the participants and the organizers for their efforts in conducting the fest.

The fest comprised 10 competitions in different categories such as Short film making, Public relations, Prop based dance, Scriptwriting, Music, Gaming, Debate, Photography, Origami and Brochure designing which were conducted simultaneously on the online platform.’’This one-day program was a virtual extravaganza for all the participants providing them with ample scope of learning and exploration of new ideas, facts and knowledge. At the valedictory ceremony, Prof. Fr. V. Arokiyadass, SJ (Chief Finance Officer, Xavier University Bhubaneswar) appreciated the efforts of the faculty and students of the School of Communications for organizing the event successfully by bringing the young minds together and creating an opportunity for them to interact and learn from each other. He welcomed the young students to pursue their education in the spirit of ‘Magis’ at Xavier University, Bhubaneswar.

The results were declared by MrSudhir Narayana Naik(Chief Manager, South Indian Bank, Bhubaneswar) and Ms.SmritiSweta Das (Managing Director, Eco Belleza – The Salon, Bhubaneshwar). The fest was concluded with a vote of thanks by Prof. Purnima Anjali Mohanty (Faculty Coordinator, Concordia 2020).
