POLICE FOIL DACOITY BID, NAB FIVE CRIMINALS AT BERHAMPUR

BERHAMPUR: Baidyanathpur Police foiled a dacoity bid near Urban Dhaba making preparations for committing dacoity at nearby places here on Tuesday late evening.
The Police arrested five dacoits and recovered 2 live Bombs,2 Motor Cycles, Swords and other articles from their possession.
The five arrested are namely Ranjan Barad of Ramnagar 3rd lane, Ajay Bahadur Gurung of Ramnagar, Chinku Dasi, Bikash Pattnaik of Ramnagar, and Prasant Kumar Behera @Runa of Ranganibandha Sahi,Bada Bazar PS limit.
ASP, Prabhat Routray said acting on a tip off, BN Pur IIC Sarada Prasanna Dash,SDPO,(City)B.Pati and police team raided Urban Dhaba where five persons were planning to commit dacoity. Police managed to nab all of them,while they were planning for crime in City.
During interrogation, the arrested persons confessed that they were preparing to commit dacoity at some convenient place of their choice in Berhampur City. All the arrested persons are hardcore criminals.IIC Dash said.
Search is on to nab the other gangs during the festive are underway and this will continue as directed by Berhampur SP,Pinak Mishra till end of Diwali.Today all they forwarded to court.
