EX MLA, ROURKELA, GURUPADA NANDA PASSES AWAY IN CUTTACK

ROURKELA: Senior congress leader and ex MLA, Rourkela, Gurupada Nanda (77) passed away today in Cuttack after a prolonged treatment. He was the MLA of undivided Rourkela in the year1980 as a Congress (I) candidate.  He joined Indian National Congress (I) in the year 1972 and remained afterwards as President of Youth Congress since 1978 for so many years. He also remained as President of Cuttack District Congress Committee.

He had been proactive in many issues relating to trade union activities in the state. He was a popular face in the State Congress Committee and was adorable in his constituency, Rourkela. By profession he was an Advocate and was doing social work for ling time. He was also a good writer and published many short stories in different magazines and papers. During his tenure as public representative he had done many projects for Rourkela. Many veteran leaders as well as youth leaders from Congress have given their condolence messages.
