YOGI ADITYANATH STYLE ACTION NECESSARY IN LYNCHING OF RAHUL RAJPUT IN DELHI

DELHI:It refers to death of 18-year old Rahul Rajput in Delhi on 08.10.2020 subsequent to his merciless beating on previous day by family-members of girl of other religion allegedly for their inter-religion friendship. Three out of the five accused will have easy escape because of their being minor according to outdated Indian law. Urgent-most amendments are necessary with retrospective effect to change definition whereby majority or minority may be judged by level of mental maturity to revise it now to 15 years instead of 18 years as at present. It may be recalled that main accused in infamous Nirbhaya rape-cum-murder case escaped gallows only because he was a minor according to present outdated law.
There should be a uniform pattern of government-compensation for family of victim irrespective of cast or religion according to requirement of vote-bank politics. Since it has become a political fashion to award upto rupees one crore as compensation to family of victim apart from a permanent government-job, same should have been in case of Rahul Rajput. To effectively check such crimes, Yogi Adityanath style should be adopted to recover compensation-money from auction of assets and properties of accused and their families.
Need is for creating a quick-justice system which may be faster than even so-termed fast-track courts to ensure hanging of culprits in a time-bound period of maximum three years to be gradually reduced to one year after crossing all stages of court-trials including upto Supreme Court and decision on any filed mercy-petition. Provision of filing review-petitions at Supreme Court in cases attracting death-penalty should be abolished.
