CONTRAST NORMS FOR CREMATION OF UNKNOWN POOR AND RICH CELEBRITY

Bureau,Odishabarta

DELHI:Controversies apart on degree of torture like tongue-cutting or gang-rape of poor girl from Hathras District of Uttar Pradesh, charge of murder is rightly levelled against the accused. Now system is to be tested if justice will be done fast when even both state Chief Minister and Prime Minister have talked to each other on the matter, or it will take long seven years providing justice like happened in infamous Nirbhaya case.

But TV-report (Zee TV DNA 30.09.2020) has shown detailed video-report that cremation of dead body of the victim-girl brought from Delhi was forcibly done by Police setting aside all cries of family-members to take the body first to her home for pre-cremation rituals and cremation not to be done after sunset as per Hindu tradition. However a senior state police-official in his televised message countered TV-visuals and version of family-members of the victim by saying that cremation at night hours was done by and with consent of family-members of the victim.

While dead body of victim could not get justice and respect only because victim-girl was poor, on the other hand earlier Maharashtra state government once honoured dead body of a famous film-actress brought from Dubai state-funeral raising controversies even though the said film-actress did injustice to a woman by marrying her husband. It can happen only in India that such distinction between poor unknown and rich celebrity is done even after deaths.
