STF, ODISHA SEIZES OVER 4 Kgs. BROWN SUGAR FROM BALASORE

CUTTACK:The Special Task Force (STF) of Odisha Police seized 4 Kg & 25 grams of Brown Sugar at Jaleswar’s Jamalpur along the NH-16 in Balasore District on the intervening night of August 26-27.
According to Odisha Police, two persons have been apprehended in this connection while further investigation is underway.
Notably, due to sustained drive in 2020 so far STF alone has seized 20 Kg 736 Gram of Brown Sugar and detected 22 cases including this case against the drug peddlers. So far STF arrested as many as 43 drug peddlers.
“The Magnitude of such seizure will become evident from the fact that the total seizure of 2020 till date by STF alone is more than the total cumulative seizure made by Odisha Police (All agencies of Odisha Police) for the last 08 years,” the Odisha Police said in a press note.Total Seizure 20 KG 736 Gram including today’s seizure 4.025 kgs.

Major Seizures:1 Kg 749 grams on 11.03.2020,2 Kg 729 grams on 19.03.2020,1 kg 008 grams on 02.06.2020,4 kg 458 grams on 19.06.2020,3 kg 285 grams on 19.07.2020,1 kg 320 grams on 17/18.08.2020,4 kg 025 grams on 26/27.08.2020,Massive seizure of ganja (also known as weed/marijuana) by Odisha Police in 2020 so far.
In the year 2018 Odisha Police seized 523.89 quintals of ganja. In the year 2019 Odisha Police has seized 618.15 quintals of ganja. Till july this year 614.50 quintals of ganja was seized.
Till last report came, over 630 quintals of ganja has been seized. Hence, current year seizure has already been more than seizure of last year (2019) and the year before (2018).
