JAJPUR:Girish Chandra Murmu, a resident of Mayurbhanj district of Odisha has taken over as fourteenth Comptroller and Auditor General of India.
On Saturday President of India by his Excellency Sj.Ram Nath Kovind administered an Oath to shri Murmu in a simple ceremony held at Rashtrapati Bhawan Maintaining a Social distance.
A 1985 Batch IAS officer of Gujarat Cadre, Murmu recently resigned from the office of First Lieutenant Governor of newly created Union territory Jammu and Kashmir.Born on 21st November 1959, 61 years old Shri Murmu was the Principal Secretary to Sri Narendra Modi during his last term as CM of Gujarat Before to be the Prime Minister of India in 2014.
Chairman of Vande Utkal Foundation cum Senior Journalist Kishore Dwibedi Conveyed his hearty congratulations to Murmu for becoming the first Odia to assume this Prestigious Constitutional position of the country.
In a statement Dwibedi added that entire Odia diasporas across the Globe are feeling proud for Shri Murmu’s elevation. Dwibedi on behalf of the foundation wished him all the best in his new Office and expressed an hope that will definitely come out with flying colours in his present assignment.
