COPS RAID ILLEGAL BAR IN BERHAMPUR

BERHAMPUR: The Berhampur Police today raided a bar as per the names & style “SUKHSAGAR”in the heart of the city at Tata benz Junction. and arrested 24 persons were found with full of intoxicated.
Acting on a tip off, a team of the BN Pur police team led by SP Dash,IIC with his Police team raided on charges of Epidemic diseases Amendment act.
According to SDPO,B Pati, Monday at 9 PM on getting reliable information regarding illegal running of a Bar namely SUKHASAGAR at Tata Benz square raid was conducted by IIC BN Pur PS and 24 persons were found while consuming taking liquor inside the Bar which was facilitated by the Manager of the Bar Arun kumar Bhuyan and the staff of the Bar Hrushi Reddy.
They were violating Social distancing norms. All the 26 persons have been apprehended. A case U/S 269/270/34 Ipc/Sec 3 of Epidemic Diseases Amendment Act / Section 52(a) Excise Act has been registered.
The Complicity of the owner is being verified. Intimation is given to the Licensing Authority of the Bar to initiate appropriate action.
It is to be noted that as per the guidelines issued by Odisha Govt that bars should obtain the approval of the State Excise department and police will check whether the rules laid down in the bar licenses are being strictly followed or by surprise raids.
