PEO CAUGHT RED HANDED WHILE ACCEPTING BRIBE

SAMBALPUR:Vigilance sleuths on Tuesday caught a panchayat executive officer (PEO) of Badagugua GP under Bonai block in Sundergarh district red-handed while accepting a bribe Rs 6000/-.
The accused has been identified as Gayatri Jayapuria.
According to SP,Vigilance, Gayatri had demanded Rs 6000 from one Nitish Kumar Mishra in order to issue No due certificate in favour of his father Jatin Mishra, Ex-PEO for release of his pension.
During investigation, a trap was laid on 14.07.2020. At about 12.35 P.M. Accused Smt. Gayatri Jayapuria, P.E.O., Badagugua G.P. was caught red handed by the Vigilance team while demanding and accepting bribe of Rs.6,000/- from the Complt. Sri Nitish Kumar Mishra . The tainted bribe money of Rs.6,000/- has been recovered and seized from the possession of accused Smt. Jayapuria in presence of witnesses.
Following this, a case was registered against Gayatri under relevant Sections of IPC and further investigation into the matter is underway.
The accused Smt. Gayatri Jayapuria, P.E.O., Badagugua G.P. has been arrested and is being forwarded to the Court.
