Addressing a press conference in the Geeta Govinda Sadan here she said a control room having a phone number: 7077775555 has been set up for the purpose. The service is available from 8 AM till 10 PM, Das added. She added that the control room is manned by either by a doctor on call or a paramedic.

The CMC commissioner said the biggest source of information is the ward-level committees which inform the control room. The moment some information is received it is immediately relayed to this group through WhatsApp, she added.

The information thus received will be tabulated by the control room. If home quarantine is allowed in the particular case, then the ward committee will be asked to pass on the information to Primary Health Centre where ASHA and female health workers ensure the stickering of homes. If there is no facility for home quarantine, then Rapid Response Team (RRT) is activated, Das added.

There are either MBBS doctors or AYUSH doctors in RRTs and are supported by paramedics, she added. Das informed that RRTs also do contact tracing of coronavirus affected persons.

The CMC Commissioner said that community engagement is important at this stage. She said ward-level committees have been formed in all 59 wards, but added that Sahi committees and puja committees are our strength for detection of affected persons.
