COLLECTOR GANJAM EXTENDED THE LOCK DOWN

CHATRAPUR:Keeping in view of of possible community transmission of novel coronavirus., the Ganjam district administration has decided on Sunday to impose further lockdown.
On Sunday at DRDA Conference hall the Collector Ganjam Vijay Amruta Kulange hold a press meet and told to scribe, the relaxation period will be from 7 AM to 12 Noon from today.
The collector requested to public for the cooperation and to support during the shutdown.But the essential services will be available during the lockdown, the Collector added.
As directed by the State Government, the weekend shutdown will continue in the district prohibiting movement of public on roads. The district will remain under complete shutdown every weekend till June 30, Kulange said.
Prof.Jayant Mohapatra,former Vice Chancellor of Berhampur has commented; “The decision to shutdown from 12 noon to 7am is just like moving backwards. A highly unwelcome decision. I know that it is coming since yesterday when some in Media started demanding lockdown.I do not know why it was required when no other district has gone for it.Our Covid numbers are also not alarming.This will only hurt Livelihood. By shutdown Covid19 can’t be prevented”.
We need to have a balanced approach not hurting the livelihood of businessmen or any other forms of livelihood since this will have long term economic impacts rather people should come forward to make aware the people to maintain Social distancing,Hand wash and use of Mask as commented by one Central Govt Officer.
Prof Dr. Narayan Mishra,Former President of Indian Chest Society commented that “Being a Chest physician & Former National President of Indian Chest Society, I appreciate & congratulate our esteemed collector Shree Bijay Amruta Kulange for a bold & timely decission of lock down of Ganjam District up to 30th june. It was highly essential in view of COVID-19 situation. I wish it could have been done little earlier”.
One of the youth leader wrote that Its very surprising that the district administration enforcing the people only for shutdown because the people are respecting the administration,I personally condemn the shutdown because the business men are only the sufferer no one more than,either the government employees or the media are may be the beneficiaries. Administration rather trying for the remedies of the covid 19, enforcing the public to obey the shutdown guidelines.Its time to protest the decision either by writing the District Administration or expressing the truth or the conditions of the poor people before our honorable Chief Minister,of Odisha.
The shutdowns can not be continued ,its time to encourage our profession because one day every one will die but it doesn’t mean the people will die under the pressure by managing themselves as well as their families from starving.We can die because we made a welcome to our own house people from all over the world.We can with them and their any types of deceases like covid-19,cholera,influenza or any pandemic but we can not leave or restrict our livelihood(?).
