MINISTER DIBYA SHANKAR MISHRA VISITS SLDC

BHUBANESWAR:Odisha Energy Minister Dibya Shankar Mishra on Thursday visited the State Load Dispatch Centre (SLDC) at Mancheswar in Bhubaneswar.
The SLDC monitors integrated grid operation for quality, security and reliability of power supply in the state. The centre exercises supervision and control over the intra-state transmission system. It keeps accounts of the quantity of electricity transmitted through the state grids. It is responsible for carrying out real-time operations for grid control and dispatch of electricity within the state of Odisha through the secure and economic operation.
The engineers of the centre said this system will streamline the distribution of power in the state. Chairman of OPTCL Sourav Garg apprised the minister of the functioning of the centre.
The Energy Minister Mishra was told how SLDC functioned during severe cyclonic storm Amphan and the blackout call by the Prime Minister.
Director, OPTCL, Raghunath Pratihari, director, operations, Upendra Pati, director, commerce GRIDCO, Umakakant Sahu and other senior officials were present during the minister’s visit.
