COST OF HEALTH-SERVICES AND AVAILABILITY OF ROOMS IN HOSPITALS SHOULD BE ON HOSPITAL- WEBSITES
Bureau,Odishabarta
DELHI:It refers to reports about extra-charging over and above charges fixed by private hospitals in getting rooms in private hospitals during the on-going corona-crisis. All government and private hospitals should on their respective websites depict availability of different categories of rooms and beds with their websites auto-updated about availability of rooms and beds. Such a provision of auto-updating about availability of rooms and beds on hospital-websites is possible because such system already exists in High Courts and Supreme Court where display-boards automatically depict case-number for which hearing is being held.
All hospitals should also compulsorily put on their respective websites charges fixed for various treatments in different categories of rooms and beds. System of varying consultancy and room-visits by consultants according to category of rooms is also not proper. Hospitals already have higher rents for luxury rooms and suites, and as such higher charges for visit of consultants in rooms and suites with higher rent is not proper. This is indirect way of minting more money because a major portion of charges for room-visits by consultants is swallowed by hospitals.
System also harms those having Mediclaim-policies where there is a restriction on daily room-rent for claiming claim-benefits, which also makes them cut in room-visits of consultants in system with varying consultancy-charges for room-visits while settling claims under Mediclaim-policy. Since Mediclaim-policies have fixed annual amount which can be claimed under Mediclaim-policies, any such restriction on daily room-rent should be removed under Mediclaim-policy.
