COP ARRESTED BY COP WHILE TAKING BRIBE IN KALAHANDI

KALAHANDI:One ASI of Police under Th.Rampur Police Station is arrested and forwarded to court for allegedly taking bribe to settle a family dispute case after the death on lightning. ASI Sumeswar Bag was sleuths by the vigilance while he was taking 50 thousand rupees from the complainant Pabitra Naik .
It is known that the complainant Pabitra Naik is a resident of village Maligaon under Kashipur Police limit in Rayagada District. His Father Dhanumani Naik died by the lightning strike back in December 2019 and for which the family was given four lakhs rupees as compensation from the Govt. of Odisha. There was a family dispute regarding the compensation amount because the deceased Dhanumani has three wife, two from Kalahandi and one from Rayagada district. Out of the three the first wife and third wife have distributed among themselves all the amount of compensation without giving the second wife as her share and as a result the second wife has lodged an FIR in Thuamul Rampur Police Station against the two in this regards. Notably, Pabitra is the son of the third wife, who resides in Rayagada. Based on the FIR the ASI Sumeswar Bag called to Pabitra and allegedly asked him to pay 50 thousand rupees failing which he warned off to arrest on the charge of fraud. ASI Bag also allegedly kept the two wheeler of Pabitra in the Police station. Finding no option, Pabitra complained at the Bhawanipatna Vigilance and basing on that DSP Mahanand and his team trapped ASI Sumeswar bag while he was allegedly taking money with the help of a homeguard. Both were arrested and forwarded to court as briefed by the vigilance SP Sashi Sekhar Mahapatra to the news men at Bhawanipatna.
