Subhadra Scheme Fifth Instalment Disbursed in Malkangiri; Over 1.40 Lakh Women Benefited

Malkangiri, August 28, 2026:A district-level ceremony for the disbursement of the fifth instalment under the Subhadra Yojana was organised with enthusiasm at the District Cultural Bhawan in Malkangiri on the auspicious occasion of Raksha Bandhan.

Malkangiri MLA Narasimha Madkami, who attended the programme as the chief guest, said that the Subhadra Yojana is a historic initiative aimed at empowering women in Odisha financially and enabling them to become self-reliant and lead a dignified life. Through the financial assistance provided under the scheme, women are able to meet family needs, support their children’s education and healthcare, and develop small businesses, thereby becoming active contributors to the economic progress of their families.

Chitrakonda MLA Mangu Khila, Special Development Council Chairman Gangadhar Sodi, Chief Development Officer-cum-Executive Officer Dasharathi Sarabu, Sub-Collector Duryodhan Bhoi, District Social Welfare Officer Sucheta Panda, Child Protection Officers and supervisors from all blocks, along with a large number of women beneficiaries of the Subhadra Yojana, attended the ceremony.

Through the programme, the fifth instalment of financial assistance was directly transferred to the bank accounts of more than 1,40,000 women beneficiaries across Malkangiri district.

During the event, the participants were informed about the key objectives and implementation process of the Subhadra Yojana, as well as success stories of women who have benefited from the scheme.

The guests and beneficiaries present at the District Cultural Bhawan also watched the live telecast of the state-level Subhadra programme organised in Nayagarh district
