A Celebration of Freedom, Pride and Unity at NTPC Kaniha

NTPC Talcher-Kaniha celebrated the 80th Independence Day with patriotic fervour, enthusiasm and a strong spirit of unity.
The celebrations commenced at the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Stadium with a soulful rendition of Vande Mataram, commemorating 150 years of the iconic national song and honouring its enduring legacy in India’s journey of national pride.
The celebrations continued with the hoisting of the National Flag by Shri Ajay Singh Yadav, Head of Project, NTPC Kaniha, followed by the National Anthem. The ceremonial parade inspection added grandeur to the occasion, as the participating contingents displayed exemplary discipline, coordination and pride.
Addressing the gathering, Shri Yadav highlighted the remarkable journey and achievements of NTPC and NTPC Kaniha, appreciating the collective efforts, commitment and dedication of employees that continue to drive the organisation towards excellence. Following the dispersal of the parade, a symbolic balloon release added colour and vibrancy to the celebrations.
Smt. Archana Yadav, President, Tanvi Sangam, along with Shri Samarpita Dewasi, GM (Project), Dr. Tapan Kumar Ray, GM (O&M) In-charge, Shri Navneet Kumar, GM (HR) and other senior officials and members of the NTPC Kaniha family were present on the occasion.
The award distribution ceremony was another highlight of the occasion, recognising excellence and dedicated contributions across various spheres and celebrating individuals whose efforts have brought pride to the organisation.
As part of the welfare initiatives undertaken by Tanvi Sangam Ladies Club under the guidance of Smt. Archana Yadav, kitchen utensils and sanitary items were distributed among beneficiaries. In another meaningful initiative aimed at supporting education and empowering young girls, bicycles were distributed to GEM girls, reflecting NTPC Kaniha’s continued commitment to community welfare and social development.
The patriotic spirit was further enhanced by a vibrant cultural programme featuring captivating dance and musical performances by students of Kendriya Vidyalaya, DAV, SSVM, Welfare Centre and Bal Bhavan. The performances beautifully reflected the spirit of patriotism, creativity and youthful energy.
The celebrations concluded on a lively note with a fun-filled Tug of War between NTPC and CISF, bringing together camaraderie, team spirit and friendly competition, and adding a memorable finale to the Independence Day celebrations.
